Fruitly collects and processes limited information to deliver accurate fruit scans, improve performance, and enhance user experience. This section explains what data we collect, how it is used, how it is stored and shared, and the rights and controls available to you. By using the Fruitly app (“App”), you consent to this Data Usage Policy.

Depending on your use of the App, we may collect the following categories of data:


a. Images and Visual Data

  • Photos you upload or capture for fruit scanning.

  • Metadata associated with those images (e.g., file type, time, device type).

  • Images are processed solely for recognition purposes and are not permanently stored unless required to improve algorithm accuracy or if you choose to save them in your history.


b. App Settings and Preferences

  • Your chosen scan mode, image quality preferences, and notification settings.

  • Language, theme, and display configurations used within the App.


c. Account Information

  • Information you provide when creating an account, such as your name, username, email address, and login credentials.

  • Optional profile details (if added), such as region or preferred fruit categories.


d. Usage and Technical Data

  • Non-identifiable analytics such as number of scans, time spent in the App, feature interactions, and device identifiers (e.g., device type, OS version).

  • Diagnostic and crash data for troubleshooting and security maintenance.

  • When you contact our support team, we may retain correspondence and the information you provide for service quality, security, or record-keeping purposes.

Fruitly uses collected data exclusively for legitimate operational and improvement purposes, including:


  • To provide accurate fruit identification results and improve scan accuracy.

  • To enhance performance, fix technical issues, and introduce new features.

  • To personalize your experience (e.g., display preferences, saving scan history, showing scientific names).

  • To send service notifications, updates, or optional marketing communications (only if you consent).

  • To comply with applicable legal obligations and prevent fraudulent or abusive use of the App.


We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or significant effects on you.

  • Uploaded images are typically stored temporarily for processing and then automatically deleted, unless you actively save them.

  • Account and preference data remain active until you delete your account or request erasure.

  • Diagnostic and analytic logs may be retained for a limited period (up to 12 months) to ensure stability and compliance.

  • After deletion, residual data may remain in backup archives for a limited time for disaster recovery purposes, but it will not be used or accessible for active processing.

  • You may manage or delete your data at any time through the Consent Settings or Delete My Data options in the App.

Fruitly values your privacy and does not sell your personal data. Data sharing is strictly limited to the following cases:


a. Service Providers

We may share limited data with trusted third-party vendors (e.g., analytics platforms, cloud hosting providers, or image recognition services) who process data on our behalf solely for App operation, maintenance, and performance enhancement.


b. Legal and Safety Obligations

We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fruitly, its users, or the public.


c. Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction. In such cases, we will ensure your data remains subject to privacy protections consistent with this Policy.


All data sharing is governed by confidentiality agreements and compliance with applicable privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

If you use Fruitly outside the country where our servers are located, your data may be transferred and processed in other jurisdictions. We implement appropriate safeguards, such as contractual clauses, to ensure your data remains protected under equivalent legal standards.

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no electronic transmission or storage method is completely secure. By using the App, you acknowledge and accept these inherent security risks. Fruitly is not liable for unauthorized access resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control (such as network attacks, user negligence, or third-party service breaches).

You have the right to:

  • Access, review, or correct your personal information at any time.

  • Withdraw consent for specific types of processing (e.g., analytics, notifications).

  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.

  • Export a copy of your data where technically feasible.

These rights can be exercised through the Settings, Privacy, or Consent Settings sections within the App, or by contacting us at support@fruitly.com.

Fruitly is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child, we will promptly delete it. Parents or guardians who believe their child has used the App may contact us to request removal of associated data.

Fruitly complies with major international privacy frameworks, including:

  • GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for EU and EEA users.

  • CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) for California residents.
